For many years now there has not been a truly top-shelf shock available for the Type II Bay Window Bus. Bilstein was the last truly high-quality shock manufacturer to offer a shock, however they discontinued their Bus offering about twenty years ago. And truth be told, the Bilstein shocks for the Bay were really too soft, even more so on a Bay Window Westfalia Camper. Fast forward to 2019, and GoWesty is proud to introduce a quality monotube shock for the Bus. Not only can these shocks handle twice the heat compared to anything else out there that fits a Bus, they can maintain way better control than the Bilstein ever did, even when hot! Don't settle for second best, get the best!

Some seat-o-the-pants feedback from the owner of GoWesty.

We selected the valving on these shocks to manage heavy loads on less-than-stellar roads when paired with the Westfalia camper. These shocks offer about 50% more compression damping, and about 100% (twice as much) rebound dampening as the no-longer-available Bilstein shocks I removed, which felt about the same as stock BOGE shocks. I would not recommend them for tin-top Buses, unless the owner likes a really firm ride and/or does a lot of high-speed, off-road driving. That said, these Fox shocks can be easily disassembled and re-valved by any shop that has Fox shock rebuilding capabilities. So grab a set, see what you think, and make your personal adjustments if necessary. We're pretty sure you'll like them just the way they are.
