If you've been looking for this part, your day just got a whole lot better. We're pleased to offer this aluminum bleeder valve for 1.9 Vanagon. It replaces the brittle black plastic, no longer available VW part. This one will never become brittle; in other words, it is the last one you will ever buy.

Note: The bleeder valve is plumbed for automatic transmissions, but is capped for use in a manual transmission vehicle. If you have an automatic, simply remove the factory-installed caps on the bleeder valve. If you have a manual, leave those caps in place.

Keep in mind: Please note that all four hoses that attach to this part are no longer available. In fact, there are many 83-85, 1.9 liter Vanagon cooling system parts that are no longer available. The cooling system was completely redesigned in 1986 with the introduction of the 2.1 liter engine. The newer '86-'91 system has fewer parts overall (and, in fact, this bleeder valve was eliminated). So, if the rest of your cooling system is original and also on its knees, it might be time to bite the bullet and convert the whole damn thing to the better 86-91 system...
