1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia
cylinders: 4 cylinders
rv type: class B
title status: clean
I purchased this van from the original owner in 2010 with 38,000 original miles. The original owner bought it from the original VW dealer here in Grand Junction, CO. The climate here is very dry and it’s been here other than road trips. Very little to no rust. It now has 100,700 mi. All original VW badging from Germany, the cooling jacket seals are still soft and will last many years, there are no leaks, it was stored inside for many years. It has never been overheated, most everything is original equipment and stock. I tuned it up when I got it at 40,000 miles-new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. It still runs like a sewing machine and handles amazing, super tight turning radius and smooth four wheel independent suspension. It brakes fast and straight. It came with a factory lift. It does have a nick and scrape, but no body or paint work has been done. Many Westfallia aficionados have rubbed down the seams and commented on how good the seams look. It is ready for adventure and has been meticulously maintained.
Newer shocks, go Westy heavy duty rear coil springs, go Westy tent with three windows (zippers are weak but work), new rear axles from the original German manufacturer, shure flow multi directional faucet, alpine radio with Bluetooth connectivity and cd, upgraded front speakers and rear speakers, second set of bfg TA all terrain tires on steel wheels, memory foam mattress covers for both top and bottom bunks, DIY 5 gallon roof rack shower, thule roof rack with two crossbars, 150 watt solar system with agm battery also charged by alternator using a go Westy kit, go Westy mass air flow sensor which improved performance, new fuel pump and fuel filter, front LED head lamps, I likely for got many.
