Description:
I am selling my family's VW tent through an auction house in southeast PA. Opening bid is only $400, and there is no reserve. https://briggsauction.bidwrangler.com/bid/61297?item=4999313§ion=auction
History of the tent... I was born in 1973, the youngest of four. Our only vacations as a family were camping. While I don't remember the VW bus which was sold in the mid-1970s, this tent was a part of every overnight stay through the mid 1980s. My ex-military father made certain that the tent was always put away clean and dry - even if this meant reassembling it when we got home in order to air it out properly before storing. I don't recall it being assembled or used in the 1990s or 2000s. I assembled twice in the last ten years - the last time being a few weeks ago for photos for the auction.
With the exception of the screen door it is in excellent condition. All of the zippers are healthy. There are no holes in the canvas.
A couple of the rubber loops that attach the roof to the frame are broken, however, this a minor inconvenience to overcome. Everything included is original and complete - save for the tie-down strings and spikes. The poles for the awning are included, too.
I may have vintage photos of the tent in use - even attached to the original bus - should they be of interest to anyone. I can be reached at gml4252@gmail.com.
