Most anything you’d want to do to one of these vans I’ve done. Nothing extreme or over the top just solid upgrades designed to keep her as comfortable and reliable as possible. She is built out as a prerunner with a 2” lift and a limited slip differential. Power is an FAS in-line 4 conversion. The same engine used in some of the VW Golf’s and Jettas. She’ll cruise easily at 70 with room to spare. Keeping her at 65 you can get 20 mpg on the highway. On back roads running between 50 and 60 I average over 22 mph in the summer.
What she needs: The heater fan is not working but I can take care of that before I sell the van. There is some body seam and lower panel rust. In the next few years cleaning up these issues and new paint from the belt down would be a good idea. There is no sheet metal work that needs to be done and the frame and components underneath are in great shape. No issues there at all.
