A Go Westy restoration with too many upgrades to list here! Here is part of their vehicle valuation report.
1987 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia, The current owner bought this vehicle in 1996 and it has been registered in Georgia ever since that time. The van has A/C and a manual transmission. In 2010 the speedometer was replaced but the mileage did not get reset. According to AutoCheck records the van had 53671 miles in 1999. In 2011 the owner had the van repainted Gecko Green, the same green used on the 2012 VW Beetle. After this it was sent to Go Westy for a full mechanical restoration. During this time the engine and transmission were both replaced. The transmission received a taller 4th gear for highway driving and the engine was upgraded to Go Westy's 2300 cc 105 HP motor. The only defect to the outside of the van is a small patch of rust on the right quarter (noted in photo below). The interior is very clean with only normal wear and tear. The front carpet is protected by rubber mats and the cabin area floor is protected by a berber carpet mat. All camping equipment is in excellent working condition. During the restoration many other upgrades were performed including:
bigger brake package, Propex 6500 BTU propane heater (very nice for winter campers), F45TI 8' awning, upgraded stereo with satellite radio, posi traction differential unit, cooling system replaced including radiator, new air flow meter, rebuilt ECU, South African grille and headlight kit, larger Go Westy wheels and tires, new exhaust system, rear seat belts, LP tank and regulator replaced, house battery kit added, PW900 inverter, new 3 window pop up tent with hydraulic assist, new A/C system including compressor, DVD with headphones and remote
This really is a brand new Vanagon with only 21,000 miles on it since restoration. It's a good year round camper for 2 to 4 people and promises to bring someone a great deal of joy.
