We are saddened to sell our beloved Russell, but our family dynamic has changed. This 1987 2.1L Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia is like nothing currently available in the southeast of the US. Here are the details:

 This van was refurbished and loved by the great Paul Pearce mechanic. If you’re in the VW van world, Paul is very well respected for his Vanagon work in the southeast. He cares about quality, only buys the best German parts, and has extreme attention to detail. Paul has been the only mechanic to work on our van. Paul also works directly with the folks at GoWesty for many of his projects, and he works by referral only.
 It has its original VIN and titled in North Carolina.
 Has around 156,000 miles with its original engine. We have owned it for around 4 years.
 The van runs great, starts immediately, idles well, and has excellent AC.
 The 4 speed manual shifting does not stick and responds great.
 Doesn’t leak or burn oil.
 Interior is party free and in pristine condition.
 All original curtains and screens are included and work great.
 New amazing paint job around 8 years ago using the authentic Titan Metallic Red color. See it for yourself in person, the paint is awesome.
 We babied this van, had regular oil changes, and tune ups from Paul.
 Paul updated these items on the van throughout our time owning it:

o New gas tank, new fuel lines, new fuel filter, all the way to the fuel rail.
o New dashboard lights with new bulb-holders and bulbs.
o New set of Pioneer Speakers in the rear with wiring.
o New Pioneer 4” door speakers.
o New tires (balanced and aligned).
o New 12 volt receptacle in dashboard for phone charger.
o Removed Domestic Fridge Unit and installed GoWesty Fridge shelve kit.
o Installed auxiliary battery 12V GoWesty kit with battery. Everything except the starter runs on the auxiliary battery so you never have to worry about draining the battery that starts the van.
o Kill switch for the radio to avoid battery drain.
o 2 outlet power inverter also on the auxiliary battery.
o Removed LPG Propane Gas tank under vehicle and Isolated copper lines.
o Installed Plumb-in Propane Cartridge system for cooker.
o New CD/USB/Ipod Stereo head unit.
o 100W headlight upgrade.
o New window crank handles (312.837.582M).
o Cleaned out water tank and line system inside van.
o AC system charged.
o New GoWesty mat set.
o SA Mudflaps.
o New Bosch AL33X Alternator.
o New Alternator wiring kit upgrade (PCI 6 guage kit).
o Replaced Clutch Master Cylinder (251.721.401A).
o New Power Steering Pump Belt and Aligned Pump (Conti 10/1075).
o New Coolant Temp Sender.
o New connections at Body for ECU harness.
o New Air Flow Meter (025.906.301CX).
o Replaced Airbox and Air Filter (Syncro HD > 025.129.620 BMN).
o New Water Pump.
o Installed New water resistance Pop Top canvas.
o New ARB Shade Awning from GoWesty.

This is a tough decision for us to give up Russell, but he needs to go to home that will fully enjoy him. If you’re serious, please check it out and drive it. This is a real 1987 Vanagon that runs smoothly > no BS. See it for yourself. More pictures to come.
