This is a modified EVC. It includes custom cabinetry, a Wallas diesel cooking stove, and an Engel refrigerator. The original stove, fridge, furnace, and propane tank have been deleted. One fuel...diesel. The van is powered by a '98 Passat TDI which has been professionally rebuilt and improved with a turbo. It powers through a VW 5 spd transmission. This conversion contains almost exclusively VW parts, and is legally registered as a diesel. I average 24-25 mpg around town, and 28-30 mpg on the road. This fuel economy is spectacular compared to the original V-6 auto. The Fiamma awning, Engel fridge ,the lift and level kit, shocks, and 16" wheels were all purchased from Go Westy. Current tires are Nokian. Night time illumination has been improved by European style headlights. The front suspension was completely rebuilt/replaced including brake pads and rotors. Coach battery replaced by two 6 volt Trojan batteries with plenty of amp hours. I have endeavored to make this vehicle efficient and dependable. Although this is a wonderful camper, it is not for everyone. This is a car that must be "driven". It is a large heavy vehicle powered by a small turbo diesel. It requires attention to gear selection, rpm range, and exhaust gas temperature. It has more power than you could normally use. Additional pictures on request. Please only serious inquiries.
